Paper or Plastic?

Last month we examined the advantages and disadvantages of ereaders. The final decision of whether or not to own one may come down to whether you are a reader who does not mind learning new technology once in a while, or a techie who does not mind reading once in a while. As I definitely fall into the first category, I did not find ereader navigation to be as intuitive as the advertisements would have you believe. In fact, my first reaction was shear appreciation for the cognitive simplicity and tactile satisfaction of traditional books.

For those of you who have decided to take the plunge and purchase an ereader for yourself or someone else, Anttix provides a general overview of three comparable models: Amazon's Kindle, Sony's Reader, and Barnes & Noble's Nook. The particular models were chosen due to having generally the same size, feel, and readability. As with all new electronic devices, as time goes on one can reasonably expect improvements in features and a drop in prices.
