Transfer a Domain
A domain transfer, is simply, the transfer of a domain from one registrar to another. The registrar is only responsible for managing your domain records. Since registrars are only holding your information a transfer from one registrar to another should not affect your website or email.
In order to process a domain transfer, you need to have ownership of a domain. Ownership of the domain is proven through a secret key called an EPP key. This key will provide authentication and allow for domain transfer. Also, the domain must be unlocked.
In order ot start the process you need to apply for a transfer to the registrar that you are moving to. As an Anttix client, we will handle the application submission to our registrar. If any contact details have changed these need to be provided before transfer.
Upon submission, the domain administrator will recieve an email requesting verification of domain transfer. The administrator must then accept the domain transfer, within 5 days, otherwise it will be rejected. If the contact details are incorrect the administrator will not recieve the request and the submission will fail, which is why we double check the contact details before submitting the application.
The transfer will take between five to ten working days to complete. The new registrar will automatically copy all the domain server information, which will ensure that the website and email is working.
Notice: The domain must be registered more then 60 days before the transfer and can not be involved in a legal dispute.
